Clearing + Connection
“The cure for anything is salt water—tears, sweat or the sea” wrote Isak Dinesen. I came across this quote years ago and loved it so much that I cut it out and glued it into my journal. Emotional clearing is so crucial to our well-being and ability to flourish. The unknown can often bring out the worst in us. Instead of pausing to connect in, we often become impatient uncomfortable, and contract around the very energy that so much needs expression.
Fear, for example, tends to drown out our intuition. Fear also engages the sympathetic nervous system in the brain and stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline get dumped into the body thus eliciting a stress response. Often it is difficult to identify and name our “fear” due to the vulnerability it opens us up to. In our society it is more acceptable to be “sick” or “stressed” as this is relatable. Think about it, we don’t judge people for being sick, we empathize.

Maintaining a daily practice of clearing—energy, emotions, negative thought patterns that no longer serve us—and connecting—through a movement practice preferably outdoors (think going on a walk, hike, bike ride, dancing, handstands, jumping up and down, gardening) is THE WAY to stay connected to our highest self and stay open to the guidance we so desire.
Your invitation today is to step outside after you finish reading this (even for 5 minutes) and consciously engage your body in movement. Track your before and after experience. I am telling you, the more you commit to a PRACTICE the more positive results you will witness. Much like tuning a guitar before it’s played taking the time to slow down and tune in to your self will begin to attune and align you with your highest self. Let me know how it goes at [email protected] I would love to hear from you!
Big love +
